Director

Marylin Norton-Smith

Marilyn has a long history of involvement with Musical Theatre. She studied ballet, tap, modern, singing and elocution from a young age taking many exams, together with attending at Eisteddfods, competitions and the like. Over the years, Marilyn has been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to play many fabulous leading roles with various Bristol Amateur Companies. These have included Charity in Sweet Charity, Anna in The Rink, Dolly in Hello Dolly, Adelaide in Guys & Dolls, Nelly Forbush in South Pacific, Velma in Chicago, to name a few. She also sang semi-professionally with a 70s style band and later in the 80s spent a year as a Bluecoat Entertainer at Pontins, a very interesting time! Marilyn has directed & choreographed for many amateur groups in Bristol and also choreographed many productions over a 10 year period with a local secondary school, travelling with them to teach and perform in their twin town secondary school in Germany. A brilliant experience for the children and adults alike. Marilyn has been involved with adult and local youth groups over many years and in recent times assisted with a production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ performed by B.L.O.C. at the Bristol Hippodrome. She is delighted to be taking up the role of Director with Minis Theatre Club and is looking forward with excitement to the new challenges ahead.
